Thought I’d pop in and share updated pictures of the Mullen plant I blogged about earlier this year in my blog titled Environment.
What are you initial thoughts when seeing these pictures? I’m saddened as I had high hopes that this plant would survive.

Are all injuries as easy to see?
I was reminded recently that we never really know what is going on in a person’s life, unless we spend multiple intimate (not sexual) times with that person. In February I met another book store owner at an event we were both selling books at. We had several things in common, including both of us having a bookmobile. We planned to keep in touch, as she lived 2 hours away from me and had customers periodically looking for the products I sell.
Notice I used the words “were”, “had”, “planned”? That’s because two weeks after meeting her body was found in a creek; she had been murdered.
I admit that our time was short & we were both busy with selling our books. In the short conversation we did have she did not share any information about what was going on back at her store. It is believed that an employee who was also an ex-boyfriend is who saw her last; he is in custody.
This lady was a single mom; she left behind two children, one an older teen and the other around 11 years old.
This experience also reminded me that we need to stop being so quick to judge and spend more time getting to know the person. Sadly, I did pass judgement initially, but later let go of that judgement and enjoyed our conversation.
