Ever have ponderings like this?
Have we been fed a lie regarding Ephesians 5:1? Have we used this verse improperly and in doing so piled on a heavy load, unrealistic expectations and unnecessary stress?
In all my years of church (baptist & non-denominational) and as a student in 3 private ‘Christian’ schools, the only teachings I received on Ephesians 5:1 were the ones that put unrealistic expectations on human beings. Anytime I questioned these teachings and brought up the fact that Jesus scolded the money changers, called them a brood of vipers, and used a whip with them I’m told, “Well that’s righteous anger” and left with the connotation that ‘righteous anger’ is only allowed to be used by Yahweh.
Another teaching is John 13:34 and Mark 12:31 which speaks about loving one another as He has loved us. Didn’t Jesus love His disciples? Then how come He scolded them for falling asleep and not praying with Him [Matthew 26:40]?
Why was He so ‘violent’ with the money changers? Didn’t He love them?
Why did He wipe out everyone except Noah and his immediate family, as well as the small amount of animals & other creatures that were on the ark with Noah? I know, there is a deeper issue here.
Why did He wipe out Sodom and Gomorrah? Didn’t He love those people?
What about Revelations 3:16? I hear so many people say, “Everything in moderation”. That’s not what I read in this verse!
What about Matthew 10:33-39?

Hi Victory Haven! Pull up the whole chapter to read context of Ephesians 5. Don’t you just love the Bible’s instructions? So much good advice about how to live. We are privileged to know this treasure Book. This is to know we must PRAY all day everyday for the souls who don’t know and God wants us to pray for their belief in God’s timing. I have a family to pray for. And for the all desperate of these times. Surely is and has been released evil since 9.11 would you say?It suddenly dawned on my mind that was a human sacrifice set up like a ritual fire pyre. Then from Bush the planner to Obama the king of muslims and we saw beheadings by his followers. This event has to be that horror of satan released! More evil has come out after that coordinated sacrifice. Just as the planned abortions are satanic sacrifices. We know 9.11 was a big news story but think of it as planned for satan to be released. Muslims follow satan. Now it should dawn on us why the world has been more evil than days of Noah. We are on schedule to know the truth of our times. It is to fool the elect; but the elite know from their master what to push on us. We must know to pray because we know how from the Bible. You ask what there is to think about or ponder about because you are in the Word of God. Jesus has reigned for 1000 years as the WORD of GOD being taught from New Testament scriptures and just in printing the WORD came to the world in Jesus and this wonderful Book! This Book is available to us all. These pages are full with the WORD to lead us by the HOLY GHOST. We learn to love GOD and live for the Glory of GOD. What can we do at our age? Pray! We don’t know the future of this battle and we must pray in fear and trembling for God’s mercy to help many souls know what they don’t know because of living in this distracting world. We need time to reflect on our personal life and all the tragic parts with the sad times we miss good people. We need time to be still and know GOD in His Son Jesus. I grew up in what else but the catholic mess. But a polish priest always had wise sayings as he knew communists killed his family. He wrote “Communism as I know It” Vladimir Kozina. He always said as we were leaving church, “God love you” was this bad English or a prayer? Nice to tell others in our day, ok?
