One Size Fits All

Boots – by Naomi Havens

What items can you name that are advertised as “One Size Fits All“? Raincoats at the Dollar Tree? Disposable gloves? What else?

Ever tried on any of them? How was the fit? I’ve tried on some that I could have easily shared with someone else.

Does One-Size REALLY fit all?

Is there anywhere else besides clothing and accessories that promotes a “One-Size-Fits-All” strategy?

Having found new eating habits for keeping my immune system strong I am constantly faced with the “One-Size-Fits-All” mentality… at restaurants, gatherings, potlucks, etc. Why is it that crap is offered on 99% of the menu? Why is it that the mentality is that everyone eats animal products? I get such scrunched up faces when asking for anything without animal products, along with the usual response of, “We have salad”. Seriously??? My husband and I recently visited a very popular place and were told, “We’ve got lots of options for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan!”, only to find out that even the deserts and green beans contained soy, of which we do not consume as it is known to be GMO in the USA and to mess with hormones. UGH!!! We are NOT the only ones visiting places like this that have dietary boundaries like this.

How about Conventional Medicine? When diagnosed with cancer the only option I was given by the Conventional Medical Community was:

SERIOUSLY!?!?!?

Does a football team have just the quarterback? Does the coach expect the running back to do the quarterback’s job? Isn’t each player ‘specialized’ in the position he holds because that’s what he does best?

Tank

How about the US Military? Why do we have different types of tanks, planes, ships, etc? Shouldn’t the tanks be the ones to do everything… One-Size-Fits-All? Why do we have different ranks among the service members? Why isn’t everyone the cook, or artillery, etc? Can’t the tank do the same thing as the Stealth Bomber? What are their specific rolls?

Do we see a One-Size-Fits-All in our schools, both public and private? I know some contemplating homeschooling who feel they “can’t do it” because they see homeschooling as a home version of the public school classroom.

What about Political Action Groups? Ever been scolded because you did not write that letter or make that phone call? Or maybe you did not show up for a rally/protest.

How many times have you gone out of your way, “Crossed Oceans”, to help someone who wouldn’t even help you cross a bridge?

Are we all created as cookie cutters? Do we all have the same interests and strengths? Are we all surgeons, or cooks, or musicians, or artists? Why aren’t true biological males (why do I even have to classify that!?) carrying babies for 9 months inside their bodies then giving birth?

So why do we work as if one-size-DOES-fit-all?

I realize that there are people who think I have a one-size-fits-all approach to health. That’s because they have not taken the time to REALLY get to know me. Several years ago I had someone tell me, “You have an attitude of MY WAY or NO WAY and if you do not get it corrected you’ll never go anywhere!” That person never took the time to REALLY get to know me.

Isn’t “MY WAY or NO WAY” the attitude of Conventional Medicine?

In John 14:6 Jesus tells us that HE is the ONLY WAY to the Father. The invitation is there for EVERYONE. BUT, we know that one-size-does-NOT-fit-all and many reject the invitation.

So, DOES one size really fit all?

I am not here to convince you, but rather to share another perspective you may not have heard before, and to Open A World of Possibilities.
