Trust

Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to HIM and HE will direct your path.

Philippians 4:6-7 – Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

2 Timothy 4:5 – Endure all afflictions. Do the work of an evangelist. Fully perform all the duties of your ministry.

Isaiah 61:1-2 – The Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives, and release from darkness the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn.

Exodus 10:1-2 – The Lord said to Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might show these my signs before him, And that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son’s son, what things I have wrought in Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that ye may know how that I am the Lord.

WOW!!! Are you like me after reading all these verses and saying, “Easier said than done!”?

The picture for this blog post is your’s truly, ME, on a catwalk during a Leadership class I took. I could have refused to get up that high and walk across that rope. BUT, I KNEW I needed to face one of my deepest fears …. heights. AND since I’d already faced my DEEPEST FEAR several years prior, the big “C” word – CANCER – and won, then I KNEW I needed to face this fear as well. Along with that fear, I also needed to deal with something I’ve struggled with all my life and still struggle with …. TRUST.

How are you in the trust issue? Do you have a safe place you know you can go when you need to talk, a place where you will be encouraged rather than hammered down into the ground, no matter what’s on your heart?

I was recently involved in an excellent discussion on the word TRUST.

Were you aware of the event that took place yesterday, 7 June 2021, in New Orleans, LA? A WARRIOR Pastor, Pastor Tony Spell was on trial facing 18 YEARS in prison for keeping his church OPEN during 2020 when everyone else closed their doors. OH, EXCEPT for Target, Walmart, CVS, Kroger, Ingles, Amazon, Lowes, Home Depot, etc …. the list goes on.

Have you ever been in a place like Tony Spell finds himself? Abandoned by his own denomination, who encouraged him to bow down to ‘Caesar’ and obey illegal mandates/decrees that the governor had NO legal authority to try to enforce. I have been; I’ve been in the lions den surrounded by so called Christian brothers and sisters.

In Romans 12:1-2 we are told to present ourselves as LIVING SACRIFICES, and to NOT conform to this world. I’ve already discussed the word conform in my blog titled “Hedonism“, so I will not rehash it here.

Isn’t being a LIVING SACRIFICE unto Yahweh-God our Creator what Pastor Spell was doing? Isn’t following a holistic health journey, including dietary guidelines, a form of being a Living Sacrifice unto Yahweh-God our Creator?

Isn’t conforming to this world, which we are told not to do, what everyone who closed their church doors, wore the face diapers, got the jab, etc did – conformed? Who do YOU trust….government, Big Pharma, Yahweh-God our Creator?

How about putting peer pressure on someone to go against their conviction just for YOUR own gratification?

Galatians 6:2 says we are to bear each other’s burdens, and in doing so we fulfill the law of Christ. What’s the law of Christ? Isn’t it to love your neighbor as you love yourself? Oh boy! That opens a whole new can of worms…How can we love someone else if we do not love our self?

I like how the Contemporary English Version puts Galatians 6:2, “You obey the law of Christ when you offer each other a helping hand. Verse one says, “don’t be tempted yourself”.

Offering each other a helping hand, doesn’t that fulfill 1 Thessalonians 5:11?

WOW!!! I’m really liking some of the images I’m finding for 1 Thessalonians 5:11!!! Check these out!

Strong People Don’t Put Each Other Down – They Lift Each Other Up

You can always tell who the strong women are. They are the ones you see building each other up, instead of tearing each other down.

So…..how does this play in to situations like I’ve found myself in way too many times with those who call themselves my ‘Christian brothers and sisters’? When a you have a conviction and believe you are following Yahweh-God you Creator’s path for you life, but someone else comes along and relentlessly puts pressure on you to give in to their pressure/temptation. Isn’t that person allowing the father of lies, Lucifer, to use their body as a tool/instrument to get you to do what you know is wrong for your body? Is this a form of that person conforming? How can you truly trust that person?

If a person is pressuring you to eat pork or crawfish, but you have made a covenant with Yahweh-God your Creator to NOT eat pork or crawfish, how is that any different than the pornography industry putting all their advertisements in front of you pressuring you to partake?

Back to the TRUST topic. One thing mentioned during the discussion on TRUST was “Can YOU be trusted?“; can Yahweh-God your Creator trust you to do what He has asked you to do? If you give in to the pressure to eat the pork or crawfish, how is that any different than giving in to the pressure from the pornography industry? Isn’t that a form of conforming to this world?

Like Elijah in 1 Kings 19, I’ve wanted to run and hide; I’ve even told God I’d be better dead, just like Elijah did, because of the lack of support/encouragement I’ve received on my 21 year outside the box health journey. BUT YAHWEH-GOD! HE always comes along and encourages me. Today’s encouragement came through HIM reminding me that HE has anointed me to share good things, that there is a way which seems right unto man, but the end is death, that I’ve committed myself to being a Living Sacrifice for HIS glory, that I will encounter afflictions along this journey but I’m to fully perform all the duties of this awesome ministry HE has called me to.
